Sunday School Times: Every Sunday, 8:45am & 10:30am
We are grateful for the children and youth of our congregation! Each Sunday children (Kindergarten and above) gather for worship with the entire congregation. After the opening elements of our worship they are invited to the front of the church for the Children's message. Afterward they are dismissed to their Sunday School classes. Sunday school concludes after each worship service.
Sunday School Classes:
Nursery (Birth through 3 years old)
Open from 8:30am. until worship is over. Child Care is free. Our nursery is a clean and safe environment where children are cared for as God's precious gifts. Our nursery is supervised by a staff person who is assisted by volunteers.
Pre-School (3 years through Pre-K)
Open from 8:30am until worship concludes. The children are instructed on a modified version of our Emmaus Road Sunday School program. They remain in their classroom and do not rotate between stations. Lovingly led by parent volunteers.
Kindergarten through 5th grade - Emmaus Road Sunday School Based upon Jesus post-resurrection walk with his disciples in Luke 24, the Emmaus Road Sunday School is a rotational model program. The purpose is to:
- Interpret the scriptures so that the children's hearts will "burn within them"
- Open the children's eyes to the risen Christ
- Enable each learner to answer Christ's question, "Who do you say that I am?"
Children are placed in one of three groups according to age. They are led by a "Shepherd" and "rotate" to a new "station" each week where they will learn a new activity based on a Biblical story. The same story is told for 4 weeks in 4 different ways so that the children may understand the entire scope of each passage. This program is staffed by our Children's Director and a group of volunteers.
Youth (6-12)
Middle School (6th grade through 8th grade) Our Jr. High group explores exciting biblical curriculum that is geared specifically for this energetic age group. This is an important age in which we try to stimulate their minds with Biblical knowledge in a fun and interactive ways. We have some awesome parent volunteers who enjoy the inquiring minds of these students, and who understand the importance of the bonds they share with them.
High School (9th grade through 12th grade) Our Sr. High group uses age-appropriate, biblical curriculum to encourage spiritual growth. Parent volunteers and staff members engage with these students, developing meaningful relationships along the way.
