![]() ![]() Chancel Choir You are invited to join the Chancel Choir to experience and share God's joy through music. This group provides a valuable ministry for weekly worship but also is a community of support and nurture for the members. Please join us at rehearsal or contact director Janet K. Thorson if you would be interested in singing. We would love to have you join our family. Celebration Choir This choir for teens performs all kinds of music, from Handel and Bach to gospel and spirituals to contemporary praise songs. There are solo opportunities for those who enjoy a challenge. We love to incorporate rhythm instruments and handbells, too. All singers are welcome, and experience is NOT necessary! Kirk Choir Kirk Choir challenges the growing musical skills and knowledge of older elementary school singers. Note-reading skills and voice production techniques are honed with fun warm-ups and games, and we enjoy the frequent use of hand chimes and rhythm instruments as we learn a wide variety of musical styles. In addition, this choir focuses on getting to know the hymnal, learning about the way Presbyterians worship, and the seasons of the liturgical year. Opportunities for solo singing are provided for the courageous! All singers, regardless of musical experience, are warmly welcomed! Kirk Choir participates in Sunday worship about once a month. Carol Choir Carol Choir uses rhythmic motion, finger play songs, instruments and games to introduce new singers to the joy of music! Music concepts are also taught through the regular use of hand chimes. Bible songs and stories help children grow in understanding of our faith. This lively group is a lot of fun for young singers, and sings frequently during Sunday worship services. Gloria Ringers The YLPC bell choir welcomes both teens and adults. The Choir participates in church services on a regular basis, and may play alone or with one of the vocal choirs. While the ability to read music is a plus, anyone interested in learning to play the bells is welcome. Instrumentalists |
